About Antonio Aiello
AIA (Principal)
As an intern, Antonio began his career in architecture at Park Avenue Design Group. Quickly accumulating knowledge and experience he was managing smaller scale developments during the development of the housing boom. During this time, he was building relationships with local enforcement officials, builders and local developers some of which he would later work for.
When Toll Brothers acquired Manhattan Building Company, he worked on large scale multi-family development projects such as The Cliffs and 700 Grove Street; assisting in the development, designs and City approvals.
During his time away from Park Avenue Design Group he was hired to head Fields Development Group in Design and Development, he assisted in getting over 450 dwelling units approved as well as another 250 dwelling units built during his time there. The projects ranged from 15-unit mid-rise apartments in central Hoboken to 60+ units on the western section of Hoboken as well as hi-rise condominiums in Jersey City such as the Waldo Lofts. This including not only in the assistance of pre-purchase and pre-design but also all the way through construction and sale.
Antonio also spent time as Senior Architect at ND+SM managing the entire design staff and heading numerous high-end hospitality and interior design projects. Projects such as Gild Hall Hotel in NYC for Thompson Group And numerous high-end design-build homes in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Eastern Long Island in eastern long Island.
After his time in New York, acquiring lifelong acquaintances and professional connections, Antonio managed Devino Architects and helped several developers start projects in the middle of our economic crisis such as the Cast Iron Lofts in Jersey City, the Hoboken YMCA renovations and he solely prepared the Danforth Avenue Redevelopment plan for Jersey City.
As principal of Urban Design Workshop, Antonio fused all that he has learned and applied it to his latest puzzles to solve. Starting on smaller scale projects to better focus on the details and slowly building his way to a larger and larger medium, Prior to the DA+A formation, working on projects of all sizes and scope including urban planning and assistance with property management companies in NYC and TPA’s for special events throughout NYC and especially Chelsea Market.
He is a 2002 graduate of the New Jersey Institute of Technology and has been a licensed architect in New Jersey since 2007 and in New York since 2008. Antonio became a member of NCARB in 2002 upon graduating college. He also became a member as an associate member of the AIA in 2002 and a full-fledged AIA status member in 2007.
As a Principal and senior manager possessing a high level of experience in Architecture, real estate development and construction management as well as through lengthy observation and involvement I have amassed an astute knowledge in the development process. From site selection and acquisitions, demographics, proformas, zoning, building codes, approvals, design and construction.At Perkins Eastman Architects, Antonio acted as a consultant at their NYC offices as a Senior Associate Project Manager, managing a 6.5 million SF complex consisting of residential, commercial, light industrial and retail through a conglomeration of architecture, master planning and interior design.
Antonio has experience managing projects such as master planning, mixed use and multifamily hi-rise design and commercial retail applications. He has an archive of successful projects through leadership and teamwork.
He has published photography in a calendar for the NJ AIA.
Antonio was nominated for the Young Architect of the Year Award for 2012 and was the recipient of the award for 2013! He has also served as Secretary, Treasurer and Vice President on the executive committee of the AIA Jersey Shore!
In January of 2021, Antonio teamed up with his mentor, Dennis Devino and started the firm Devino Aiello architects. Where he is now working on a multitude of mixed use multi-family projects through northern NJ and NY.
