A building that has stood for decades as Arthur’s Steakhouse is undergoing a restoration and vertical extension. The renovation of the existing building and the construction of an addition that totals five stories at the tallest point. The project will demolish the interior walls while keeping the building’s shell intact. 18 total apartments and two large retail spaces are included at this highly visible location. This site has been home to many Hoboken hot spots and restaurants over the years and looks to continue this tradition once this modern upgrade is completed. 

Located along the main commercial corridor of Hoboken, NJ, this project is also located in the heart of the historic district, requiring approvals for both historic appropriateness for the existing masonry structures and the addition that is added above the historic facades. The simplified design helps exemplify the importance of the existing buildings.
